My 21 year old scar is definitely not as tender to touch now especially where the drain and reconstruction emergency surgery scar is. The scar is not so puckered now and I feel I can movement where it has been released from my rib bone. I have more freedom of movement under my arm when lifting it! All in all, amazing on such an old scar!

My surgeon said the scar could do with loosening up as I required further surgery on the area. It helped a huge amount and the outcome of the second surgery was better than expected because of the scar therapy I received from Sheree. I couldn't believe how gentle it was and how much of an impact it was going to make!

Scar therapy massage is a specialist treatment designed to support recovery following surgery, injury, burns, trauma or medical procedures. Using gentle, evidence-informed soft tissue techniques & modalities, treatment aims to improve tissue mobility, reduce tightness and sensitivity and support healthy scar tissue adaptation. Scar therapy can also help improve comfort and moving in every day life or activities and the overall appearance and function of the affected area. Each treatment is individually tailored to the stage of healing, medical history and personal recovery goals. No two scars are ever the same. Unlike traditional massages, scar therapy is much more gentle and lighter touch than you may think. This pain free approach helps the scar tissue integrate with the surrounding healthy tissue, promoting hydration and fluid exchange, altering the structure of adhesions and encourages a better range of motion within the fascial network in and around the scar. During the treatment a range of dry massage techniques, IASTM (Instrument-assisted soft tissue mobilisation), negative pressure cupping, taping may be used, and the likes of creams, silicone gels or sheets & self care homework may be given to help the specific needs of the clients scar journey. Sheree is a RestoreScar therapy practitioner, Oncology Scar specialist and will help you on your road to recovery and better scar health.
